RISE UP Campaign · Champions of Dignity

One pack. Three years of school days she will never miss.

Period poverty remains one of the most significant yet overlooked barriers to girls' education and economic mobility in Kenya. An estimated 1 in 10 girls misses school during her menstrual cycle, translating to up to 4 days per month; approximately 40 school days annually, of lost learning, lost opportunity, and compounding disadvantage.

When you buy a Dignity Pack, you support us reach a girl who gets reusable, hygienic pads that last 3–5 years, so she can stay in class, build skills, and open the door to a brighter future.

Support an adolescent girl to stay in school and pursue her future: fund a dignity pack today

What is a Dignity Pack

The Dignity Pack is a holistic, dignity-centred menstrual hygiene kit designed to support a girl through the remainder of her secondary school years. It goes beyond sanitary products to address emotional well‑being, health literacy, and practical hygiene management.

Each pack includes reusable menstrual products, guidance on cleaning and care, affirmation-based mental‑health resources, and discreet, dignified packaging. Together these elements help girls attend school safely and confidently every day of their period, improving retention and long-term prospects.

A small, discreet fabric bag that fits inside a school bag. Girls have a way to carry a pad to the toilet block hygienically and in a dignified way.

Washable, breathable cotton pads with panty liners. Just rinse, wash, and air dry; that’s all they require. A Grade 10 girl who receives her pack can use it till she completes school.

Why Grade 10 & Why Now

Under Kenya's Competency-Based Curriculum, Grade 10 is the year a student majors in her senior school pathway. This choice shapes every step that follows: university eligibility, career options, and economic potential.

A girl who misses school during this year does not just lose notes. She loses the classroom conversations, the teacher relationships, and the exam preparation that inform the biggest decision of her adolescent life.

Period poverty shows up as silence during a lesson she missed. As a pathway chosen from a smaller range of options because her points did not qualify her for her first choice.

One Dignity Pack, placed in her hands at the start of Grade 10, interrupts that sequence.

The Journey

From your contribution to her classroom

1. Show your support by purchasing a Dignity Pack.

Your contribution supports our school girls' dignity packs, which include four reusable pads, a menstrual health information booklet, and other essential items tailored towards meeting the mental and physiological needs of the girls.

2. Together, we uplift and support the learners.

Our team of health education experts and volunteer career mentors visits participating schools to distribute kits. Students receive a pack along with education on menstrual health and hygiene, as well as social behaviour change communication to address stigma.

3. She attends and completes school.

She manages her period safely and privately at school every day. She sits every exam. She chooses her education pathway with everything she needs.
