Become a Mentor for RISE UP 2027!

We are recruiting Better Tomorrow Mentors, these are career professionals and recent graduates from across Kenya who will walk into a classroom and show Grade 10 students in Embakasi that their future is bigger than their current postcode.

RISE UP is a structured campaign addressing career aspiration, menstrual health, WASH, and mental health stigma in under-resourced Nairobi schools.

Mentors are the heartbeat of the career awareness component.

What you will do

Lead one 45-minute structured session at a school in Embakasi between January and May 2027. You will share your career journey, open a Q&A with students, and help each learner complete an aspiration card. Sessions are fully designed and supported by our team. You show up. We support you make an impact

Who we're looking for

Health & medicine

Doctors, nurses, public health professionals, pharmacists

Tech & engineering

Software engineers, data analysts, civil engineers, architects

Law & advocacy

Lawyers, policy analysts, human rights advocates

Entrepreneurship

Founders, freelancers, agribusiness leaders, creatives

Finance & accounting

Accountants, bankers, investment professionals, economists

Media & communications

Journalists, content creators, PR professionals, designers

Eligibility criteria

18 years or older

Based in Kenya or able to travel to Embakasi, Nairobi for your session

Currently employed, self-employed, or a recent graduate (within 2 years)

Hold at least a diploma or university degree

Able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct if shortlisted, mandatory for child safeguarding

Available for one in-person session between January and May 2027
